Google Business Profile with Claude
What This Guide Covers
- How to claim and fully build out your Google Business Profile so new clients find you before they see a single photo of your work
- How to use Claude to write a description, service list, and profile Q&A that sounds like you, not like a template
- How to keep the profile working for you with a few minutes of upkeep a month instead of a one time setup you forget about
Why This Matters
When someone searches "hair salon near me" or "barber open now," Google Business Profile decides whether you show up at all, and whether the listing looks credible enough to tap.
Most independent personal care businesses claim their profile once and stop there:
- No description, or one that reads like it was written for a different business
- A handful of outdated photos, sometimes years old
- Hours that haven't been accurate since last season
Google reads an incomplete profile as a sign the business might not be very active, and shows it less often. A complete, current profile does the opposite. It signals that you're open, real, and worth showing to someone nearby who needs what you do.
The full setup takes about an hour, and you only do it once. After that, a few small updates a month keep it performing.
Case Study
Rooted Wellness, a solo massage therapy practice, had a Google Business Profile with no description and two photos, both several years old. The owner used Claude to write a clear description of her specialties, filled in a full service list with session lengths, and added new photos of the actual treatment room.
Result: Within a few weeks, first time clients started mentioning they'd found her through a Google search, something that had almost never come up before.
